Hi all! It's Eleonor here.....as you all know, each Thursday from 11 -1 PM, you can come into the store for coffee and a card. It only costs $2 to create a card and have a cup of java -- such a good deal for a wonderful cause. The proceeds all go to the Canadian Mental Health Foundation. The cards we make are fairly simple, but oh so elegant and wonderful -- but here I'll show you how you can take your card that you've made on Thursday and step it up a notch! Here's the card we made last Thursday.
We made this card using the direct to rubber technique. You simply colour in the parts of your stamps with your choice of tombow markers. Here I've used Memory Box paper and pulled colours from the pattern to create a flow that is pleasing to the eye. Easy, peasy right?? But wait.....have a look below.
See what a little bit of distressing on the edges can do? I also added some flat back pearls in pink and then I popped up both the image and the sentiment. Just a little bit, and you get a WOW! Here's a close up.
It's easy to add to the simplest of cards and end up with something with that much more depth and detail. Try it next time. If you are free this coming Thursday, I'll be showing you how to make another wonderful card and this time, we'll be using the scorebug! Hope to see you on Thursday.
